A unique large printing press block is used to create a large invoice or receipt. It is likely a handmade piece as was common practice in print shops. This square wooden block has a metal front with many fun shapes and backward writing on the front of it. It would create a great deal of conversation as office decor. You could also display this on a shelf in your industrial design scheme, creating a nice letterpress wall art.
This large letterpress block was likely used for some sort of manufacturing invoice or tracking system way before computers were common. It references part numbers, truck models, credit memos, and other fun instructions. It is a wonderful piece of history.
This block (and others in our shop) are from a printing press in the Southern Tier of New York that was left behind in a barn. The last thing printed in the shop was from the early 1980s. Most of the equipment and blocks are from the 1960s and 1970s.
Measurements: 9.25" Wide X 8.5" Long X 1" Deep. This is also a heavier piece, weighing in at just over 2 lbs.

This is in great vintage condition. There are some discolorations of the metal, which gives it tons of character. The wooden block on the back is in great condition with some cursive handwriting.
