French Opera La Poupee (The Doll), 1800s Rare Music Books, French Country Decor, Gift for Opera Lover, Vintage Music Room Bookshelf Decor

Opera Lovers will enjoy this hardcover music book copyright 1896 for the performance of La Poupee. Jazz up your vintage bookshelf or add something unique to your French Country decor.

Condition: Everything is in great condition. The front and back cover are in excellent condition with a solid spine keeping them together. There is yellowing on the pages due to aging but no rips or tears.

Additional Info: The book has the music for each act with all words written in French. The opera-comique was written by Maurice Ordonneau with the music done by Edmond Audran. It is a wonderful piece of art history and would make a nice addition to any collector.

Our shop has a fun story associated with these books and others. They were all found on our recently purchased homestead in various places on the property. Some in the house that dates back to 1830 and others in an old school bus used for storage. The bus is packed full of books, and exploring inside is quite an adventure. As you walk by the bus, you can smell the lovely old book (library smell.) The property owners from the early 1940s or 1990s (Marvin & Beatrice) were avid readers and curated an amazing collection of books. I read many of them before passing on, but I simply don't have the time for the hundreds of books here. I hope that by listing them in our shop, many people worldwide can enjoy Marvin & Bea's collection of books!
